Daniel began his legal career as an Assistant Public Defender at the Jackson County Public Defender’s Office shortly after earning his law degree from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 1996.
In this role, he was assigned as a Traffic Assistant handling Misdemeanor Traffic cases — including DWLS (Driving While License Suspended), DWLR (Driving While License Revoked), and DUI cases — giving him firsthand experience advocating for defendants navigating the criminal justice system.
This early career position laid the critical foundation for Daniel’s later work as a state prosecutor, military attorney, and eventually his own private practice — giving him an understanding of the law from the defendant’s perspective that few attorneys possess.
Understanding what it means to defend someone — not just prosecute — is what makes Daniel a more complete attorney today.
